Hong Kong has one of the highest rates of teen suicide across Asia. Children in Hong Kong are predisposed at an earlier age to mental health problems such as anxiety and depression. Stress is a problem with far-reaching consequences. Our teens and youth need help to manage stress and help face personal challenges.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: JAN 31, 2019 / refundable registration fee $100 (due upon acceptance of programme)

Here to Be is an 8-week yoga and mindfulness program targeted at supporting teens as they navigate through intense life pressures with school, friends and transition to independence. The program emphasises physical, mental and emotional wellbeing, empowering teens to face personal challenges, go beyond self-limiting beliefs, and express themselves in a safe and non-judgemental space.

「瑜越」是一個為期八週的學習瑜伽和正念的計劃,旨於幫助青少年舒緩在學校,生活和成長過程中形成的緊張壓力。本計劃強調生理,心理和情感健康,使青少年能夠面對個人挑戰的同時,超越限制,展現自己。


Programme Outline - 課程撮要

Students participate in 8 sessions consisting of yoga, meditation, mindfulness and tools for healthy mental and emotional health.

每位學生將會參與為期 8 星期的課程,其中包括瑜伽練習,冥想,正念和培養健康心態和處理負面情緒的工作坊。

  • Week 1 — Introduction to the Program + YOGA: Introduction + MIND: Importance of Good Mental Health

  • 第1週 - 計劃簡介:瑜珈:簡介 + 心靈:良好心理健康的重要性

  • Week 2 — YOGA: Working with breath to balance emotions + MIND: Healthy vs. Unhealthy Stress

  • 第2週 - 瑜伽:練習呼吸來平衡情緒  + 心靈:認識健康與不健康的壓力

  • Week 3 — YOGA: Healthy Body Image/Respect + MIND: Breathing techniques for stress management

  • 第3週 -  瑜珈:瞭解身體的型態  + 心靈:學習有助管理壓力的呼吸技巧

  • Week 4 — YOGA: Foundational Core Strength + MIND: Addressing Self-image & Esteem

  • 第4週 -  瑜珈:強化身體的核心肌肉 +  心靈:建立自我形象和自尊

  • Week 5 — YOGA: Breaking down physical & mental blocks + MIND: Looking at negative thinking patterns

  • 第5週 -  瑜伽:打破身體和精神障礙 + 心靈:瞭解消極的思維模式

  • Week 6 — YOGA: Respect of others + MIND: Community service preparation

  • 第6週 -  瑜珈:尊重他人 + 心態:社區服務準備

  • Week 7 — COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT

  • Week 8 — YOGA: Reflection Practice + MIND: Reflection & Group Sharing
